When I work with individuals or companies, I am always intrigued by the motivation factor that they have of wanting to be better, smarter, faster, loved, etc.
Why do we look after all aspects of our lives yet we don’t always indulge or schedule the self-care regime that is absolutely needed to have work life balance and allow us to enjoy our life?
When your car needs maintenance like an oil change or an alignment you call your mechanic and make an appointment and have the maintenance done, however, when it comes to self-care this is not always the case.
Life does not have to be faster. If you truly want to enjoy your life and implement work life balance then a willingness to change with a newly developed mindset is required.
Whose scale are you comparing yourself to?
The winning equation to having work life balance is to balance your willingness, passion and desire together to achieve and execute a life of balance without anyone’s opinion or watchful eye.
Stress is a key factor in all of this happening. You create stress from your thoughts and actions. It saddens me to see the many individuals that I work with who take medication for stress-related symptoms.
Let me refresh your memory on what those symptoms may be:
- Heart Palpitations
- Excessive eating
- Nail Biting
- Memory lapses
- Compulsive behaviour
Unfortunately, this list could go on for many more points, but you are getting a clear indication that this can be non-existent if stress is managed and you can align yourself to achieve work life balance.
This is your opportunity to re-evaluate what you are doing, what is NOT working and hopefully eliminate any of the list above and manage the stress in your life.
